The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to award a sole source modification, entitled "246 IZP Gates," to Tenzor Electronic Instrument Works under contract DTRA01-99-C-0076. Tenzor will produce 246 IZP gates, with two IZP-2 personnel gates per nuclear weapon storage site. As a minimum, each 1 km set will consist of two IZP-2 personnel gates for a total of 123 sets. These gates will be used to modify the existing inner and outer IZP fencing, which is part of the SOS/Protva security system. This effort is tied to an agreement between the U.S. Department of Defense and the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense to provide assistance with the acquisition of certain physical security systems/equipment and ancillary materials to improve the security of selected nuclear weapon storage facilities in Russia. This requirement must be performed by an organization whose products have been certified by RF MOD. Because Tenzor is currently providing physical security equipment, materials, and services under contract DTRA01-99-C-0076, compatibility will be ensured as the same standardized equipment will be installed.
