This is an amendment 02 to a combined synopsis/solicitation number N00173- 00-R-HA02, issued on 02/25/00 on Multipurpose Measurement System. The purpose of this Amendment is to answer some questions asked by some prospective offerors. The questions are as follows: Question: "The specification states that the temperature control either with internal or external thermometer -0.5K (or less) -- 400K (or more), is this actually referring to the temperature range that the system can operate at? Does it need an He3 insert? If so, is the He3 insert required or an option to purchase? Does this mean that the temperature stability can be controlled to within 0.5K?" Answer: The temperature range specification does indeed mean that we will need an He3 insert. This is required at time of award. The closing date is revised and is extended through 30 March 2000.
