USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) proposes to issue an open market award for Thomson Industries, Inc. equipment and accessories. The requirement is to furnish and delivery the following: two (2) each Part # 2EB24FTBZ-SL SL140 System, one (1) each P/N 2EB24FTBZ-SL SL116 System, three (3) each P/N MAB24-BLX42 Adapter Motor Block, three (3) each P/N MC667815882400 Coupling, two (2) each P/N API422AD030L50 Motion Control Package, one (1) each P/N 21468B10 Cable, Omni J1 Interface Pigtail, one (1) each P/N LSP2EB24-SL SL140 Limit Switch, and one (1) each P/N LSP2EB24-SL SL116 Limit Switch. The brand name procurement is required due to the development by the Government of software to provide control of the linear motion assemblies and computer control equipment for another system. Development of this software is costly but will allow for customization of the system based on project demands. This same software will be used for the new system thus saving the costs of development time. The proposed award action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit for only one brand under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(c). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
