E-MAIL: Vivienne D. Gallo, vgallo@mail.arc.nasa.gov. NASA/ARC plans to issue a IFB/ Request for Offers for Building N246, Heavy Metal Shop Rehab. The work to be performed under this contract consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to complete the subject project: Interior rehabilitation and modification of an existing 1632 square meter shop facility, Building N246. Work elements include new lighting and power services, heating system, encapsulating wall insulation, new overhead crane control system, motorized hanger door operators, new modular office, demolition of office space, new liquid oxygen system. The additive bid item includes epoxy flooring and mechanical systems demolition. Asbestos abatement and lead abatement expertise is required. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 250 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and shall be advertised under Full and Open Competition procedures. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1542 and $17 Million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about April 3, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about May 4, 2000. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO. All requests for copies of solicitation RFO2-36849-VDG should be in writing and be directed to Mr. Chris Wolfe.
