The U.S. National Arboretum (USNA), a 446 acre facility located at 3501 New York Avenue, NE, Washington, DC. has a requirement for a food service vendor providing food service for special events, private parties, as well as box lunches for tour groups and meetings throughout the year. In addition the requirement is for limited food service for the visiting public on a daily basis from April 1 through November 1 . The USNA is an entity of the Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. Over 500,000 people visit the outdoor gardens and collections each year, with predominant visitation in the spring. Additionally, numerous organizations whose mission is consistent with the USNA/s use the facilities for meetings, events, and sales. The USNA is open to visitors every day of the year except December 25. The hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The USNA is a world-class Arboretum and desires to provide food service that complements and enhances the uniqueness, refinement and enjoyment of the Arboretum experience. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR A FEDERAL CONTRACT and therefore not governed by Federal procurement procedures. The solicitation will be available on or about March 22, 2000 with a due date of April 27, 2000. Two (2) site visits of the facility are being offered, Friday, March 31, 2000 at 2:30 P.M. and Thursday, April 13, 2000 at 2:30 P.M. Interested offerors should arrive at the Administration Building Lobby promptly at 2:30 P.M. to meet for the tour. Evaluation is based on past performance, experience, financial consideration, menu variety/pricing, and oral presentation.
