COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 22,2000 PSA#256258 -- JOINT THREAT WARNING SYSTEM (JTWS) FOR "LEAVE BEHIND" RADAR
DETECTION The purpose of this potential sources synopsis is to obtain
information from sources that feel they are capable of supporting the
Joint Threat Warning System (JTWS) program umbrella with current off
the shelf items. The specific segment of the JTWS program addressed by
this Sources Sought is solely associated with new Electronic Warfare
(EW) components that can be integrated into a common operating
environment for Man-Portable or Remote Radar Detector system
configuration. It is anticipated that this segment of JTWS will provide
hand-held, all-weather and very light-weight detection capability
against ground, air and, in particular, maritime and river vessels, and
will consist of a Personal Computer (PC), small antennas and receiver
units. All offerors' products will be evaluated to determine the
effectiveness for integration into the JTWS umbrella associated with
legacy systems. This capability will allow for operation in numerous
geographic locations and extreme climates. All products must meet
stringent requirements for size, weight, power and transportability. At
this time it is requested that all interested parties respond by
submitting a capability statement/documentation (under 2 pages). The
statement should specifically address a capability overview to include
related technology. This effort is in coordination with the Foreign EW
Systems Evaluation Group (FEWSEW-RF) Foreign Comparative Testing
Program. Therefore, all manufacturers are encouraged to respond. This
announcement is NOT a Request for Purchase. This is a search for
potential sources and does not commit the Government to award a
contract under the above listed terms, nor is the Government
responsible to pay for samples or information received. A cutoff date
of 10 April 2000 is established for the submission of responses.
Responses should be sent to the United States Special Operations
Command, ATTN: PEO-IIS (LCDR Andy Poole and Mr. Brad Mohr), 7701 Tampa
