W -- EXERCISE OF OPTION FOR AIRCRAFT LEASE AND MAINTENANCE In accordance with FAR Clause 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract, the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), China Lake, intends to exercise an option for a 6-month period for aircraft lease and maintenance under Contract N68936-99-C-0192 with Flight International, Inc., in the amount of $1,900,554.00. The requirement is for the lease of five 19-Passenger Metro III aircraft with an option for a sixth 19-passenger Metro III aircraft. The requirement is to provide inter-site (NAWCWPNS, China Lake, CA, to NAWCWPNS, Pt. Mugu, CA) and island air transportation (NAWCWPNS, Pt. Mugu, CA, to San Nicolas Island). The term of the option period is from 1 April to 30 September 2000. The contract was awarded on a sole-source basis to Flight International, Inc., in accordance with FAR 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency, due to the need for continuity of operations.
