The Mines, Demos, and Grenades office of the Munitions Armament Center (MAC) is conducting a market survey of industry to identify contractors capable of manufacturing metal grenade bodies for the M67 Fragmentation Hand Grenades. The M67 body is a two piece brazed metal item. It has an embossed fragmentation pattern on it's inner surface. The technical description of this item is identified as Body for Grenade, Hand, Fragmentation; NSN 1330-01-051-1586, and PN 8810743. Some equipment and operations typically associated with the manufacture of the grenade body are roll mill, forming presses, coining presses, degreaser, pickling system, brazing, tensile test inspection, phosphate system, paint system and lathe. A respondent to this survey should be able to show that they have adequate technical and manufacturing capability and good past performance in the metal processing industry as an indicator of your qualifications as a manufacturer for this item. A respondent to this market survey must have available a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture or fabricate the grenade body. Interested companies who feel they have the necessary manufacturing capabilities should respond by providing the government the following information; a brief summary of the company's capabilities, including a description of facilities, personnel, past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above criteria; estimated minimum and maximum monthly quantities that can be produced and the Minimum Procurement Quantity (MPQ) required for production. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc) available, the respondent must be able to demonstrate his ability to obtain those resources in a timely manner. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or contractors, they must also meet this criteria. This is a market survey for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the government. The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information. The government will utilize the information provided only to develop and maintain an acquisition strategy for future requirements.
