This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number is DABT57-00-Q-1010 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The product must be a permanent boom that is specifically designed to remain in the water continuously and specifically durable to resist damage from wind, sunlight, marine growth (such as barnacles, etc.) and wave action for a period of ten years. Boom length should be a total of 24 inches (11 inches freeboard and 13 inches skirt). The boom must contain antifouling coating material to retard marine growth. The boom must contain Ultra Violet (UV) inhibitor coating. The boom will come with written maintenance instructions. All metallic parts on the boom must be of a non-corrosion material. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 5088, TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES. This solicitation is a 100% set-aside for small business with a small business non-manufacturer size standard of 500 employees. Delivery of the product will be FOB destination with delivery to FT.
