U.S. Army Material Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting
Division has a requirement on behalf of the United States Marine Corps
and the United States Army for two types of Advanced Food Sanitation
Systems (AFSS), each with specific requirements. The Marine Corps'
AFSS, Type I, Advanced Sanitation Unit (AFSU) and the Army's AFSS, Type
II, Advanced Field Sanitation Center (AFSC) will provide the respective
Services with the capability to properly clean and sanitize food
service equipment and comply with preventive medicine regulations,
Publication NAVMED P-5010 and Army Food Doctrine FM 10-23, thereby
ensuring troop health and welfare. Additional requirements shall
include providing: Spare and Repair Parts for the AFSSs, New Equipment
Training, and Technical Data Buyout (Option). Offerors may propose on
one or both types of AFSSs, however the Government prefers to award
only one contract for both types for the purposes of reducing
administrative, unit and logistical costs. This procurement will
utilize FAR Part 12 Commercial Items, and is 100% Small Business
Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3569 and the
small business size standard is 500 employees. The Government
envisions the use of a Five (5) Year (One Base Year and Four Option
Years) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity
(IDIQ) contract. The guaranteed minimum for the contract shall be 10
AFSSs (5 each of Type I, AFSU and Type II, AFSC), with a maximum
quantity of 2,160 AFSS (combined for both types of AFSSs). A copy of
the Solicitation, Performance Purchase Description (PPD) and Drawings
(which are for reference purposes only, and are not intended to direct
the Offeror to any particular solution) will be available on or about
March 31, 2000 at the US Army Materiel Command Acquisition
Center-Natick Contracting Division's web page at:

accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(7), the solicitation, including all
