(i) This synopsis is a streamlined solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solictation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation numer is DAAD07-00-Q-0094. The solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). (iii)This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. (iv)This solicitation is unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3357. (v) US Army Materiel Command Acquisition Center, White Sands Division, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, solicits quotations for 60,000 feet of composite communications cable. This is a follow-on requirement to a previous contract where 101,000 feet were delivered, and compatibility is important. No follow-on contract is anticipated. (vi) The item is White Sands Missile Range UTP and Fiber Optic Multi-Media Cable, Plenum Type CMP-OF. It shall include 4 each cat 5 cables, 4 each multi-mode fiber cables, 4 each single-mode fiber cables, and a rip cord. It shall have a white PVDF outer jacket and a nominal cable outside diameter of 0.545 inches. Each Category 5 cable shall include 4 pairs, 24 awg solid copper wire, in a CommFlex subunit jacket. Subunit jacket colors shall be red, green, white, and orange. Each pair shall be insulated with Plenum FEP and identified by standard colors (blue/white, orange/white, green/white, brown/white). The four multi-mode fibers shall be included in a buffered optical fiber with aramid strength member and a blue CommFlex jacket. Each fiber shall be insulated with PVC and identified by standard colors (blue, orange, green, brown). (vii) FOB is Destination, Building 1840, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. Delivery shall be within 90 days of award. (viii) The provisions at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial, applies to this acquisition. Product samples shall be submitted prior to the time specified for receipt of offers, at no expense to the government. Product samples must be adequate to permit testing the performance of the cable "or approved equal." The point of contact for submitting product samples is Jose Mendez at (505)678-3975.
