Veterans Affairs (VA) desires to procure patient medication
information (PMI) database with updates. VA medical centers will use
the patient medication information to print the medication information
inserts, which are provided to patients with their prescriptions. VA
intends to incorporate the PMI database into the VA National Drug File
database (NDF) that is accessed by VA facilities throughout the
country using the VISTA network. The VA's requirement is for the PMI
database only. VA will develop the software to read the PMI database
and subsequnt updates to the NDF database. This database will be
further accessed by the individual VA sites. Access to the PMI database
by the individual sites will be limited to reviewing and printing of
the patient medication information. VA would like to schedule meetings
with interested firms during the week of April 17 thru 21, 2000. If
