Greg Gulledge 816 983-3808 CONTRACT INFORMATION: Architect and
Engineering Services, procured in accordance with PL 92-582 (Brooks A-E
Act) and Far Part 36, are required for Masonry Design for Masonry
Buildings Technical Instructions within the Kansas City District, U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers. SIC code 8711. FSC Code: C211. Selection will
be made for a contract amount expected to be $25,000 to $100,000. This
announcement is restricted to Small Businesses. A business is small
for this effort if its average annual receipts do not exceed $4.0
Million. If an insufficient number of qualified firms respond to this
synopsis, other qualified firms may be identified from ACASS and any
other means. 2. PROJECT INFORMATION: (Address the scope, disciplines
and knowledge required in order of importance) The Kansas City District
Corps of Engineers intends to award a contract for Engineering (A-E)
services for the development of new Technical Instructions (TI) for
Masonry Design for Buildings (TI 809-06). The selected A-E will be
required to write selected chapters for the TI. This work requires
expertise in the structural design of masonry and masonry building.
Knowledge of current and pending model building codes for the
structural design of masonry is required. Electronic work processing
and Computer Aided Drafting incidental to the preparation of the
document will be required. Selection will be made from the ACASS
system. 3. SELECTION CRITERIA: Based on the project information above,
in order of importance is: specialized experience and technical
competence, professional capabilities, past performance on DOD and
other contracts as determined from ACASS and other sources, capacity to
initiate and complete this work, and knowledge of the locality. If the
preceding criteria result in a tie, the following criteria in order of
importance will be used for a tiebreaker: SDB participation, geographic
proximity and volume of DOD contract awards. 4. SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS:

having the capabilities to perform this work must submit one copy of a
SF 255 and SF 254. The SF 255 with optional cover sheet is limited to
12 pages. Solicitation packages are not provided. This is not a
request for proposal. Interested firms having the capabilities to
perform this work must submit one SF 255 & SF 254, if not already on
file with the Corps of Engineers, to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
760 Federal Building, 601 E. 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64106,
