The U.S Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000 intends to award asole source contract to Wright-Malta Corporation, Malta Test Station, Malta New York 12020. This requirement is for RDT&E Engineering and Scientist Services Support for conducting Test Firing of Prototype Large Caliber Cannon, Howitzer and Developmental Weapons Systems in support of Benet Weapons Laboratory. The Contractor will provide all facilities, equipment, labor, materials (except materials the Government may elect to furnish) and incidental services necessary to carry out instrumented test programs. The facilities required must be capable to handle cylinders 24 inches in diameter and breach rings 30 inches on a cubical side, structural steel, stainless steel, and aluminum in lengths up to 20 feet and thickness up to four inches. They must possess indoor cannon storage and assembly areas as well as explosive buildings necessary for test firing activities and storage of large quantities of ammunition or explosives. The Contractor may conduct and support the experimental firing of weapons ranging in size from 20mm to 155mm caliber. This Contract will be a task order type and the effort is for a period of 1 year with the option for 2 additional years. This announcement is Market Research information only.
