Z -- The project work consists of removing shoals from Jacksonville Harbor between Sta. 0+00 Cut-42 and Sta. 64+56 Terminal Channel. The Base Item of work is from Sta. 0+00 Cut-43 to Sta. 64+56 Terminal Channel which shall be dredged to a required depth of 40 feet plus 2 feet allowable overdepth; estimated material to be dredged is approximately 2,019,000 cubic yards. The Optional Item of work consists of dredging Cut-42 to a required depth of 40 feet plus 2 feet allowable overdepth; estimated material to be dredged is approximately 476,000 cubic yards. Within areas of the Optional Item where in-situ rock is encountered above the required dredging depth, the contractor will not be required to achieve depths in excess of those shown on the Multibeam survey as provided in the contract plans. Total quantity to be dredged is approximately 2,495,000 cubic yards. All dredged material from the Base Item will be placed in the designated upland disposal area (D/A-1) located an average of 2.5 miles from the project site. All dredged material from the Optional Item will be placed in the designated upland disposal area (D/A-2A) located an average of 3 miles from the project site.
