Existing muldems employ Transistor/Transistor Logic (TTL) as the electrical interface to external equipment. In addition, the Land Range Communications Section recently procured a digital matrix switch to allow switching of multiple remote site telemetry data streams between sites and multiple terminal devices such as decryptors and recorders. The digital matrix switch employs Emitter Coupled Logic (ECL) as the input and output electrical interface. A device is required to convert existing TTh interfaces to ECL for switching purposes and from ECL to TTL for terminal devices.
