Converter: Purpose: The following defines the salient characteristics
of a Transistor/Transistor Logic (TTL) to Emitter Coupled Logic (ECL)
and Emitter Coupled Logic to Transistor/Transistor Logic converter:
Item Description: The Land Range Communications Section is currently
using telemetry data multiplexers/demultiplexers (muldems) to transport
aircraft and weapon telemetry data from remote sites to the Range
Control Center. Existing muldems employ Transistor/Transistor Logic
(TTL) as the electrical interface to external equipment. In addition,
the Land Range Communications Section recently procured a digital
matrix switch to allow switching of multiple remote site telemetry data
streams between sites and multiple terminal devices such as decryptors
and recorders. The digital matrix switch employs Emitter Coupled Logic
(ECL) as the input and output electrical interface. A device is
required to convert existing TTh interfaces to ECL for switching
purposes and from ECL to TTL for terminal devices. Salient
