synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6,
as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are
being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. PAPER
COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. The solicitation
will be issued on the web and can be found at the following website:
http://www.stewart.army.mil/DOC/intro.htm . (ii) Solicitation
DAKF10-00-R-0225 is issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) using
simplified acquisition procedures and incorporates provisions and
clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Regulation 12.6.
It is the contractors responsibility to be familiar with all applicable
clauses and provisions. (iv) This procurement is unrestricted. The
Standard Industrialization Code (SIC) is 3646 with a size standard of
500 employees. (v) The Army has a requirement for 30 Coleman Light
Towers Model Number MH4000RLKH OR EQUAL. (vi) Offerors shall include
the manufacturer or brand name of the product and descriptive
information if offering on an equal. (vii) Description: Light Tower
4000 watts 14 gauge housing; 30 foot, 360 degree rotating tower. Tower
able to withstand 60 MPH winds, 3 cylinder diesel engine set at 1800
RPM, 6 KW brushless generator, 2/3 load to horsepower match for
trouble-free life, high temperature and low oil pressure shutdowns.
Center point light bracket with forklift pockets. 15000 lb. self
braking winches, more than 60 hours of run time per tank of fuel. Quiet
operation, as low as 71 dBA at 23 feet. Durable, fade resistant
polyester powder coat finish -- White. (viii) Delivery of the 30 Light
Towers shall be completed not later than 14 April 2000. (viiii) The
government will award the contract to the responsible offeror whose
offer represents the best overall value to the Government considering
delivery and price in descending order of importance. (x) Additional
requirements: Warranty. The Contractor shall extend to the government
full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally offered to
similar commercial customers provided such warranty is available at no
additional cost to the Government. Acceptance of the standard
commercial warranty does not waive the government's rights under the
"Inspection Clause" nor does it limit the Government's rights with
regard to the other terms and conditions of this acquisition. In the
event of a conflict, the terms and conditions of this contract shall
take precedence over the standard commercial warranty. The standard
commercial warranty period shall begin upon final acceptance of the
Light Towers. (xi) FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required
to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items (May 1999),
