This is a Sources Sought synopsis and Request for Information for solicitation F0561100R0009, only to determine industry interest and capability. Contractors are asked to submit capability statements expressing their interest. Capability statements should include past performance information similar in scope to this initiative, references with phone numbers, the business size, point of contact and any other pertinent information. The capability statements will be used as part of the market research to determine if this acquisition should be set-aside for small businesses or proceed in an unrestricted manner. A letter stating your interest or requesting a copy of the solicitation is not sufficient to determine contractor capability. The following is the General Scope of Work required for this contract: SCOPE OF WORK _ GENERAL: This will be a Firm, Fixed Price Contract. As such, the contractor shall be required to provide all personnel, labor, equipment, tools, materials, supplies, supervision, transportation associated with the execution for upgrading the U.S. Air Force Academy Visitor Center lobby and exhibit area using approved, existing redesign plan (floor plans, conceptual drawings, material recommendations). For the lobby area general scope of work includes developing specifications for approval, manufacturing and installing signage for the exterior and interior, installation of reception desk, specifications for approximately 30 feet of interior walls, exhibits and new gift shop entry portico. Procure and install fabric banners and special floor coverings. For the exhibit area develop specifications for approval, manufacture and install approximately 20 fixed and relocateable, multi-media, interactive exhibits. Work with the Air Force Academy public relations staff to obtain necessary photographs, artifacts, text and information for displays. Develop specifications for approval, procure software, create database and purchase/install hardware for multi-station, touch-screen information system. Paint or install approximately 100_x8_ foot wall mural images. Coordination timing of exhibit area upgrade actions with separate but related, ongoing facility improvements (carpet, wall coverings, lighting, etc.) Disruption must be minimized during peak visitor period of Jun-Aug without delaying the project. Work timeline should include allowing for approvals/inspections and completion by 30 Sep 00. MATERIALS: Materials will be in compliance with OSHA and USAFA bioenvironmental standards. EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS: Contractor provided equipment shall prevent marking or scratching of fixtures, furnishings, or building surfaces. Contractor provided electrical equipment shall be UL approved. Services shall be provided in accordance with all USAF and Academy procedures/regulations. This service is subject to the Service Contract Act. The RFP and all associated documents when issued will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) home page. When a RFP is available, it will be advertised. Any interested contractors identifying themselves for this procurement will be placed on the Offerors Mailing List, which will be available electronically at the above EPS Internet address. No date has been established for the RFP issuance. Offerors are encouraged to subscribe/register for this solicitation number through EPS to ensure they automatically receive all documents associated with the procurement in a timely manner. All associated documents will also be released electronically unless a written request is received from contractors justifying hard copies.
