Services to repair, modify, calibrate, and perform quality control checks on various types of seismic instrumentation used in a telemetered network of more than 350 short-period seismograph stations in California. Instruments include, but are not limited to, VCO/AMPS, discriminators, dc-dc converters, solar panels, summing amps, lightning arrestors, transmission lines, seismometer cables, antennas, and inter-connecting cables. Contractor will assist in testing digital seismic instrumentation and cabling. The Government anticipates a minimum of 10 VCO/AMP units and 8 discriminators for the contractor to repair and calibrate at any given time. Contractor will conduct training classes (NTE 3 per year) for USGS employees on seismic instrument installation and maintenance and related topics and assist in developing classroom instruction on an as-ordered basis. The Government will provide facilities in Menlo Park, CA, and all materials, tools, utilities and test equipment. Anticipated contract type firm fixed price (training on labor-hour basis).
