Farley, Contracting Officer (440) 838-6060 The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Cleveland Business Center, Brecksville, OH, intents to enter into a non-competitive commercial item contract with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), One Renaissance Blvd, Oakbrook, IL 60181, to provide a three day custom designed educational program entitled "Standards and Survey Process for Hospitals, Home Care, Long Term Care and Behavioral Health Care" at the VAMC Syracuse (VISN 2), on March 28, 29, and 30. This educational program is in preparation for JCAHO survey FY 2000. Contractor shall provide a resource book of visual presentation materials used during the program, and a copy of the 2000 JCAHO Hospital Accreditation Standards for an estimated 200 participant attending the program on site and via videoconference. Contractor shall also provide accreditation for all physicians, nurses and hospital administrators attending program. Due to the unique nature of this procurement there isa reasonable basis to conclude that the materials and services required are only available from this source and no other type of materials or services will satisfy agency requirements.
