D -- MOBILE/WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM POC Calvin Boddie, (805) 228-6954 The Naval Surface Warfare Center is soliciting information in support of an efficient and economical, mobile/wireless communication system (which shall include equipment and maintenance) for the entire Naval Surface Warfare Center. The Naval Surface Warfare Center is at this time soliciting only information. This is not a solicitation for proposals, nor will any contracts be awarded as a result of this request for interest. All information received from this RFI will be used and compiled for planning purposes. A high concentration of approximately 2,000 to 4,000 users exist in each of the following five (5) Divisions that make up the Naval Surface Warfare Center: Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VA Indian Head Division, Indian Head, MD Port Hueneme Division, Port Hueneme, CA Carderock Division, W. Bethesda, MD Crane Division, Crane, IN (includes 9 detachments and sites located in Philadelphia, PA; Annapolis, MD; Memphis, TN; Bayview, ID; Bremerton, WA; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Norfolk, VA; Panama City, FL; and Ketchikan, AK) Wireless communication services for pagers and cellular phones to include such things as analog, digital, and PCS; coverage in Metropolitan, Regional, Nationwide and Worldwide areas; 2 way paging, personal area network, Personal Data Access devices (PDA's), and email.
