E-MAIL: NIST Contracts Office, Contract@nist.gov. The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), has a requirement for a Automatic Dicing Saw. The Automatic Dicing Saw is required to have an 8" wafer capability, exhaust to remove potentially lethal debris when sawing InP and GaAS type wafers, capability to saw hard and thick materials such as sapphire, SiC and ceramic. The Automatic Dicing Saw is required to meet the following specification: (1) Accommodates up to 8" wafer (203mm), (2) 1000 W non-seizing low vibration air bearing synchro-spindel, (3) Optional 2200 W non-seizing low vibration air bearing synchro-spindel, (4) Accommodates 2" or 3" blade diameters, (5) Automatic chuck table rotation-closed loop (380 degree maximum), (6) 12" B/W monitor with onscreen magnification of 162x, 325x, or 550x, (7) Advanced software (AS) package maximizes ease-of-use and cutting flexibility, (8) Flange and wheel mount dressing kit, (9) Step accuracy has less than 3 microns (0.0001") error over 8 inches, (10) Granite base,(11) Fiber Optic Direct Light Illumination, and (12) Interactive menu operation. It is the Government's intent to negotiate with Disco Hi-Tec America, Inc, 4460 Brookfield Corporate Drive, Suite B, Chantilly, VA 20151, the only responsible source that can satisfy the agency's requirements. Delivery is required 140 days after receipt of order. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price purchase order. The proposed requirement is for equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.301-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotation. However, the government will consider all proposals received within five (5) days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) package is not available.
