Flight Center. Interested parties must demonstrate how they can safely
execute all phases of the Payload Carriers Program. These carriers and
their supporting subsytems are currently manifested to support a number
of International Space Station (ISS) Assembly Flights and Space Shuttle
Science Missions. These carriers have previously flown multiple Shuttle
missions and were developed by a variety of European and US
contractors. This effort began under contract NAS8-32350, continued
under contract NAS8-39400, and is currently being performed by
McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing

analytical integration, and be able to assume ongoing multi-flow
hardware development and mission integration activities to support
critical ISS and Space Shuttle Payload deliveries. Interested sources
must have an in-depth knowledge of integrating complex hardware/systems
using engineering support and configuration management systems based on
a variety of specifications (NASA SSP,MIL-SPEC, European and DINs), and
historical databases in various formats (hard copy, microfiche,
electronic). Readying hardware for missions will require expertise in
the following core integration areas: system configuration, structural
analysis, environmental analysis, and operational analysis based on
historical utilization efficiencies. Interested parties must
demonstrate the ability to provide the comprehensive knowledge base
required to maintain and operate the carrier fleet and must demonstrate
detailed knowledge and capability to support Kennedy SpaceCenter
Payload Ground Operations Contract technical and program interfaces,
requirements, and processes. From time to time requirements for new
Carrier Flight Support Equipment will be identified, and interested
parties must possess the ability to plan, design, build, verify and
certify human space flight hardware and software to meet a dynamic
Space Shuttle manifest. The anticipated period of performance is from
mid-FY 2001 through FY 2004. ***Interested offerors having the required
capabilities to meet the above requirements should submit a brief
