No solicitation exists:therefore,do not request a copy of the solicitation. ENGINEERING INTEGRATION SERVICES FOR PAYLOAD CARRIERS. Sources are sought to perform engineering integration and mission services for the Flight Projects Directorate at NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center. Interested parties must demonstrate how they can safely execute all phases of the Payload Carriers Program. These carriers and their supporting subsytems are currently manifested to support a number of International Space Station (ISS) Assembly Flights and Space Shuttle Science Missions. These carriers have previously flown multiple Shuttle missions and were developed by a variety of European and US contractors. This effort began under contract NAS8-32350, continued under contract NAS8-39400, and is currently being performed by McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company, Huntsville, Alabama. Interested sources must possess expertise in Spacelab Carrier, Space Shuttle, and ISS mission and analytical integration, and be able to assume ongoing multi-flow hardware development and mission integration activities to support critical ISS and Space Shuttle Payload deliveries. Interested sources must have an in-depth knowledge of integrating complex hardware/systems using engineering support and configuration management systems based on a variety of specifications (NASA SSP,MIL-SPEC, European and DINs), and historical databases in various formats (hard copy, microfiche, electronic). Readying hardware for missions will require expertise in the following core integration areas: system configuration, structural analysis, environmental analysis, and operational analysis based on historical utilization efficiencies. Interested parties must demonstrate the ability to provide the comprehensive knowledge base required to maintain and operate the carrier fleet and must demonstrate detailed knowledge and capability to support Kennedy SpaceCenter Payload Ground Operations Contract technical and program interfaces, requirements, and processes. From time to time requirements for new Carrier Flight Support Equipment will be identified, and interested parties must possess the ability to plan, design, build, verify and certify human space flight hardware and software to meet a dynamic Space Shuttle manifest. The anticipated period of performance is from mid-FY 2001 through FY 2004. ***Interested offerors having the required capabilities to meet the above requirements should submit a brief capability statement of eight(8) pages or less that outlines and substantiates the firm's capabilities to perform all aspects of the effort decribed herein. Each respondent at a minimum should provide: (1) a written confirmation that respondant has reviewed the scope of work described above; (2) a general description of revelant capabilities that the company offers; (3) its business size and type (large, small, 8(a), etc); and (4) at least one customer reference from similar work that the company has successfully completed. Remember,the capability package should be as brief as possible while clearly demonstrating the ability to perform the listed functions above. RESPONSES MUST BE RECEIVED IN WRITING BY April 25,2000.
