The Government is contemplating a sole source foreign military sales (FMS) French Republic (FR) and United Kingdom (UK) Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) Modification Study contract to The Boeing Company, PO BOX 3999, Seattle WA 98124-2499. Contract is for specialized integration studies and analyses for FR/UK AWACS modification to include (a) preparation of system engineering and integration feasibility studies, (b) systems configuration definition and design studies related to AWACS modifications, (c) systems analysis of AWACS systems and subsystems to identify the most cost effective implementation approach to meet an operational requirement, (d) production planning and retrofit solutions, and (e) preparation of price and availability data for AWACS modification projects. These studies will continue the update and modification of the FR/UK respective fleets to ensure and maintain worldwide AWACS fleet interoperability and commonality. The Government anticipates contract award in Fiscal year (FY) 2000, basic, with four options, for a total of sixty (60) months and a ceiling of $4.5M.
