are requested by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit = Authority
(WMATA) for RFP FK0331/CLE -- Customer Service Support for = SmarTrip
Program. The SmarTrip card is a fare medium currently being used = in
the Metro System for rail travel and parking, which is registered to =
an owner and has the capability of being replenished in value up to a
= certain amount as funds are being drawn. It is anticipated to be
usable = on the bus within the next several years. It is a durable
replacement for = the stored value paper cards still used throughout
the Metro system. The = required services would provide front-end
production, fulfillment and = back-end administration of the SmarTrip
Program. Experience in customer = service operations, transaction
processing centers, and settlement = clearing is required. The contract
term is three years with two-one year = options for extensions, subject
to yearly funding availability. Solicitati= on to be issued o/a March
27, 2000. This procurement will use the "best = value" approach. The
technical factors are of equal in importance and = together are
significantly more important than cost. The technical factors = are:
(1). Adequacy of the technical proposal; (2). Management Plan; (3). =
Past Experience; and (4) Security. Consultant shall comply with E.O.
No. = 11246 Revised Order No. 4. A pre-proposal conference is scheduled
o/a = April 10, 2000 in the Meeting Room of the Jackson Graham
Building, 600 = Fifth Street, N. W., Washington, D.C. 20001. Proposals
