CONVERSION OF LANDSAT 8MM TAPES TO CD-ROM IN IMAGINE FORMAT The objective of this task is to transfer 2,000 Landsat images from 8 mm tapes to CD-ROM disk, reformatting them into the ERDAS IMAGINE format in the process. This will require the development of a system to perform the copy process as well as training a person to manage and perform the process. This will also require development and delivery system solution to optimize the processing throughput by continuously reading in imagery, writing to CD, and allowing quality control and bookkeeping to occur simultaneously. Data to be copy is located at USDA headquarters in Washignton DC and will not be allowed to be removed from the DC area.
