The Federal Bureau of Prisons, South Central Regional Office plans to issue Solicitation IFB 50703-4053 for the construction of a new accessible stair and elevator connecting the Education Building and Library. Demolition of the existing connecting corridor between the Education Building and the Library is also included. All work will be within the secure perimeter of the Federal Correctional Institution El Reno, Oklahoma located approximately 35 miles West of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The work consist of, but not limited to, demolishing the connecting corridor/bridge, construction of a new accessible stair and elevator to serve both floors of the Education Building and the Library level. Construction of temporary security fencing and partitions around the limits of construction, removal or relocation of the security fencing at the end of the work, incidental construction to repair or connect building elements to remain after demolition of adjacent construction, backfilling, compaction and re-grading the site after construction of the stair and elevator tower, construct new sidewalks and provide the courtyard grading and drainage requirements, and hydro-mulch, re-seeding and planting of grass areas disturbed during construction and demolition. The successful contractor will be required to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials to complete the work. The magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The period of performance is 280 calendar days. The solicitation will be available on or about April 17, 2000, with an anticipated bid opening date of May 19, 2000, at approximately 2:00 p.m. (Local time) to be received in the front lobby at the Federal Correctional Institution in El Reno, Oklahoma.
