This action is not suitable for full and open competition as Litton Marine Systems is the only company that makes a north seeking fiber optic gyrocompass with the following requirements: not magnetically sensitive nor based on magnetic compass for heading, survives in a marine environment preferably with no moving parts, has a minimum of 1 heading read per second, .5 degrees accuracy on a high speed surface craft and is lightweight, small and minimum power requirements. Litton Marine Systems is the unique developer and only source for the subject system to meet the mentioned requirements for small high speed surface craft.
