Associates, a prime contractor for the NHLBI-sponsored Health
Information Network, seeks subcontractors to conduct performance-based
education projects specifically focused on enhancing the dissemination
and utilization of existing science-based information to prevent and
control cordiovascular disease in high-risk communities within Health
Service Areas where there are high mortality rates. These projects will
be conceived as Enhanced Dissemination and Utilization Centers (EDUCs).
The purpose of these projects will be to address performance goals and
objectives of the NHLBI Cardiovascular Health for All agenda. The
goals are as follows: 1) prevent development of risk factors, 2) detect
and treat risk factors, 3) prevent recurrence and complications of
cardiovascular disease, and 4) early recognition and treatment of acute
coronary syndromes. Performance projects must support at least one of
the NHLBI Cardiovascular Performance goals listed above and address the
prevention and control of cardiovascular disease through the increased
dissemination and utilization of current information. It is
anticipated that three to five subcontracts will be awarded for a
periode of 3 years each. This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP). RFPs
