The project work is situated at Elephant Butte Dam which is located approximately 5 miles northeast of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, State Road 51, in Sierra County, New Mexico. The principal features of the work include repair of the Complex Access Road, Complex Parking Lot, and Earth Embankment Road. This includes the removal and disposal of the existing asphalt pavement surface, replacement of the asphaltic road surfaces of the Complex Parking Lot and Complex Access Road, overlay of Earth Embankment Road surface, restriping of the Complex Parking Lot and signage for two handicap parking stalls. Also included is the enlargement of the 10 existing 2-inch diameter drain pipes with 6-inch diameter drain pipes along the Earth Embankment Road, resealing a 1 1/2-inch average width space, 2400-foot strip, between the parapet wall and upstream concrete-lined slope with hot rubberized asphaltic crack sealer, and realignment of the Earth Embankment Road Guardrail.
