46 -- WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM DUE 043000 POC Raymond Brown, 703-602-1195 E-MAIL: BrownRW2@navsea.navy.mil, BrownRW2@navsea.navy.mil. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is looking for ways to improve the taste and quality of drinking water in the four (4) buildings at their Headquarters Complex in the Washington Navy Yard. Specifically, we are interested in any information on what systems or equipment are available to improve water quality by either having a dedicated piping system with a centralized filtration and pump control system or a system or equipment that provides point of use purification. This drinking water system must absorb organic chemicals, chlorine, and other chemicals that may affect taste, as well as Cryptosporidium and Giardia bacterium. In addition it must eliminate or filter odors, discoloration and other impurities which effect how appealing water is to the consumer as defined within the National Secondary Water Quality Regulations. The type of information sought includes electrical and mechanical characteristics, specifications, and costs. Also, it is desired that any other areas that need further development in order to meet requirements or specifications be identified. This request is for purposes of exchanging information to improve the understanding of the Government requirement and industry capabilities. This announcement should not be construed as a commitment by the Government, and any information submitted by industry will not constitute an offer which could be accepted by the Government to create a binding contract. Written responses are requested by 30 April 2000; however, earlier dialog is encouraged. Address responses to the Commanding Officer, Naval Sea Logistics Center, 5450 Carlisle Pike, P.O. Box 2060, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-0795 (Attn: Code N36). The technical Point of Contact for this effort is Mr. Raymond Brown who may be reached at (703) 602-1195 or by e-mail at BrownRW2@navsea.navy.mil. Posted 03/29/00 (W-SN439022). (0089)
