The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River, MD has a sole source requirement for the production of the following Raytheon Company Receiver-Transmitters (RT's), Controllers and Mounts which make up the AN/APX-100 family. Estimated quantities for each of these items range from one to eighty units per year with a delivery schedule of twelve months after placement of order. Delivery shall be made to various locations throughout the continental United States as well as FMS customers. In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Raytheon Company is the sole designer, developer and currently the only qualified manufacturer of the AN/APX-100(V) Radio-Transmitter, Controllers and Mounts and as such has the requisite knowledge to fulfill the requirement. Therefore, this acquisition shall be negotiated on a sole source basis with Raytheon Company d/b/a Raytheon Systems Company, 1300 East Joppa Road, Towson, MD 21286-5999. It is anticipated that a requirements type production contract, with provisions for firm fixed price delivery orders, shall be awarded for a base period of one year with two one year options.
