66 -- INFRARED GAS ANALYZER SOL RFQ CAZ-00-27 DUE 041000 POC Christina Schofield, FAX 970/498-1045 The Rocky Mountain Research Station has a need for one portable infrared gas analyzer. This is combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitiues the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number to refer to in response to this notice is RFQ CAZ-00-27. This requirement is being issued as a Request for Quotation using Simplified Acquisition Procedures at Subpart 13.1. The estimated price range for this project is between $20,000 and $35,000. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. Pursuant to FAR 13.003, this requirement is set-aside for small business concerns only (See Note 1). The Standard Industrial Code for this solicitation is 3826, less than 500 Employees. The intent of this solicitation is to obtain one portable infrared gas analyzer by means of a firm fixed-price contract. Delivery of the instrument shall be no later than May 1, 2000. The portable infrared gas analyzer will be used for field plant physiological research, and as a minimum shall consist of the following four items: the instrument shall be light enough to be easily carried by one person in the field; the instrument shall be capable of precisely controlling the CO2, water vapor and temperature environment of samples enclosed within the cuvette; the instrument shall have three cuvette configurations: broad leaf, narrow leaf and conifer; the instrument shall be equipped with a chamber and software for measuring soil respiration. As a requirement of this solicitation, the Vendor shall submit a quotation which describes, in detail, its instrument, delivery times, cost of the instrument and type and length of the warranty of the instrument. The quotation will be used to evaluate for award. FAR 52.212-1 applies to this acquisition.
