Los Alamos National Laboratory under contract to the Department of
Energy, solicits companies interested in collaborating with Los Alamos
National Laboratory in a Cooperative Research and Development
Agreement (CRADA), sponsored research arrangement and/or to obtain an
exclusive or nonexclusive license rights to commercialize, manufacture
and market a new method of dyeing entitled "Color Polymer
Microparticles Through Carbon Dioxide-Assisted Dyeing", hereinafter
referred to as "Technology". This Technology is currently being
developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory and is the subject of an
invention disclosure. The Technology has applications in the following
fields: textile dyeing, xerography, toner ink cartridges, printing,
cell labeling and biological studies. In addition, this process may be
extended for the impregnation of latex particles with other compounds
such as drugs or reagents for controlled release. Any organization
interested in licensing the Technology or in partnering with Los Alamos
National Laboratory to develop the Technology for their specific
application(s) must respond with a Letter of Interest. The Letter of
Interest shall include a description of the company's (1) business and
business goals; (2) technical staff and resources; (3) financial
resources; (4) manufacturing and marketing capabilities; and (5)
motivation for pursuing this opportunity. Respondents are encouraged to
provide ancillary documentation such as annual reports and technical
publications. The Letter of Interest must provide this information for
the respondent to be considered as a qualified respondent. The Letter
of Interest is requested by COB May 2, 2000. Following the execution
of a Nondisclosure Agreement, qualified respondents will be provided
with technical data that will enable them to evaluate the technology.
Qualified respondents that wish to enter into negotiations for a
commercial license will be required to submit a comprehensive business
plan or product commercialization plan prior to licensee(s) selection
