The intent of this contract is to secure services for precommercial thinning with release of approximately 256 acres on the Happy Camp Ranger District, Klamath National Forest, Siskiyou County, California. Project consists of Contractor selecting leave trees, cutting of non-leave trees, and slash treatment. The contractor shall provide all transportation, supervision and supplies necessary to perform the work. Presently, all units have a Limited operating period (LOP) for owls and consultation is in progress for marbled murrelet (MAMU), expected to be completed by July 9. If consultation is not completed, Contractor shall ensure that an adequate workforce is available to complete the contract within contract period (60 calendar days). Contract start date will be no later than September 15, 2000. Date for receipt of quotes has not been established, but is estimated to be mid May, 2000.
