COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 31,2000 PSA#2569REMOTE ACCESS STORAGE The Postal Service has awarded on a sole source
basis to EMC Corporation a contract to provide 500GB of storage in
support of the Certificate Authority (CA) Program. The CA application
will be hosted in the USPS' San Mateo, California Computer Operating
Service Center (COSC) and will require a controller based concurrent
backup copy of the data at the facility located in the USPS'
Minneapolis, Minnesota COSC. This application is currently operating in
a SUN/NT clustered environment. The requirement is for a fiber ready,
mid-range (small footprint), program specific storage platform capable
of extended range remote data copying all within a SUN clustered
environment. This increased storage capacity is required on March 31,
2000 to support the initiation of this USPS program. This notice of
intent is not a request for competitive proposals. NO SOLICITATION
EXISTS. A determination by the USPS not to open the requirement to
competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the
discretion of the USPS. Information received as a result of this notice
will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining
