Background "The Aeronautical Systems Center, Operational Contracting Branch (ASC/PKWO) is contemplating a 5-year contract to provide Base-Wide Laundry and Dry Cleaning Services. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS, not a notice of RFP issuance. All interested firms should respond with their company name, address, point of contact phone number and size standard. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this acquisition is 7218. A Small Business in this SIC cannot exceed $10.5 million average gross revenue over the last 3 fiscal years. Expected period of performance will begin1 October 2000. Contractor will be required to make daily pickups of bulk laundry, piece laundry and dry cleaning. Bulk laundry shall be returned within 48 hours, piece laundry within 48 hours and dry cleaning within 24 hours. Estimated laundry count over the 5 year period of the contract is: Bulk Laundry: 3,935,000 lbs, Piece Laundry: 43,932 pieces and Dry Cleaning: 38,500 pieces. Minor repair of items to include minor rips, tears, open seams and holes will be accomplished at no cost to the Government. Reimbursable repairs will be identified by the Government at time of pickup and will be charged at pre-set bid prices. Soiled and clean linens will be transported in accordance with all local health regulations and/or state laws or regulations. Contaminated linens will be placed in water soluble bags (provided by the Government) and will be processed without individual handling by the contractor.
