This work consists of modifying two transformers for additional cooling capacity by removing ten air cooled fins and twelve electrical cooling fans from each transformer and installing two natural convection horizontal shell and tube exchangers on the existing fin shut-off valves of each transformer to achieve an increased transformer rated heat load. The project also requires connection to an existing six inch underground raw water line in an existing valve pit with underground and above ground pipe, valves and fittings; requiring installation of a six inch underground raw water discharge line down a rock embankment to discharge into the river downstream of the Table Rock Dam. Trenching in the exisitng transformer yard will be required. Embankment rock removal and replacement will be required. Estimated magnitude of work is between $100,000 -- $250,000. Issue date for solicitation will be on or about 19 April 2000. Solicitation documents will be made available upon request.
