COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 3,2000 PSA#2570Commander, Naval Air Systems Command (Code 2.3), Patuxent Naval Air
Station, Bldg 2272, Lexington Park, MD 20670 16 -- REAL TIME MISSION PLANNER FOR SLAM-ER DUE 042200 POC Chip
Langville, Contract Specialist, AIR-2.3.2.2.6, Phone (301)757-5250
E-MAIL: langvillewh@navair.navy.mil, langvillewh@navair.navy.mil. The
Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract
modification under contract N00019-97-G-0119 to Boeing Missile Systems
for integration of the Real Time Mission Planner in the P3C AIP
aircraft to facilitate launch and control of the SLAM-ER missile. A
prior contract modification allowed the implementation of SLAM onto the
P-3 aircraft including Real Time Mission Planning or RTMP capability.
The mission planning portion is housed on a Unix based computer called
the Voyager IIi which is made by TADPOLE Technologies. Boeing
purchased 10 of these units based on recommendations from the USN and
Tactical Automated Mission Planning (TAMPS) program office. The Voyager
was chosen because of the Y2K requirements and system capabilities
required by TAMPS. The existing Voyagers include the baseline SLAM-ER
software. This effort will require purchase of an additional 2 units,
upgrades to the baseline SLAM-ER software and software requirements for
the Voyager to work with the AMIB for mission transfers. The point of
contact for this modification is Chip Langville and he can be reached
at (301)-757-5250. His e-mail address is Langvillewh@navair.navy.mil
