U.S. Army CECOM proposes to award a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to acquire new production Mechanical Scanner Assemblies, MX-9872(V)1/AU, MX-9872(V)2/AU and MX-9872(V)3/AU in accordance with Performance Specification MIL-PRF-49166C(CR) and the applicable specification sheets, and Mechanical scanner Assemblies MX-10717(V01/U, MX-10717(V)2/U and MX-10717(v)3/U in accordance with MIL-S-49301(CR), Addendum 1 and applicable specification sheets. (Addendum 1 to MIL-S-49301 (CR) requires a Secret Clearance.) Under this contract the contractor shall also have the capability to reconfigure existing Mechanical Scanners MX-9872(V)1, (V)2, (V)3, (V)4, (V)5, (V)6 or MX-10717(V)1, (V)2 or (V)3 to any of the following configurations: MX-9872 (V)1, (V)2, (V)3 or MX-10717(V)1, (V)2 or (V)3 as required. Award will be made to the lowest priced responsive, responsible bidder. A First Article Test effort shall aso be included. The Mechanical scanner is used in infrared night vision sight aplications. It is a two axis gimbal and housing assembly. The inner gimbal is a two-sided reflecting mirror that simultaneously scans IR rays across the dector array and visual rays from the LED array to form the image.
