for a comprehensive physical education program covering
Pre-kindergarten through Grade 12. 2.Estimated value for 18-month base
period and 5 one-year option periods is $5.3 Million. 3.DoDEA will
review materials to meet instructional requirements in the following
categories: Personal Fitness Course, Lifetime Sports Course,
Comprehensive Physical Education Teacher Resource Book/Program,
Physical Fitness Education and Assessment Program, Physical Education
Concepts, Adapted Physical Education, Sports Safety and Care of
Injuries, Dance Education, and Other Technology. 4.Contractors shall
provide related professional development training and support services
as requested prior to the full implementation of the adopted materials
in the schools. 5.Contractors shall submit program materials for grades
Pre-kindergarten through 12 for review and evaluation. 6.There could be
as many as 35 awards or as few as 1 award for all of the 9 categories
and components of these categories or any combination thereof. 7.All
materials required shall adhere to the DoDDS Pre-Kindergarten through
grade 12 Physical Education Standards (available at DoDEA's web site,
http://www.odedodea.edu). 8.All materials within each program shall
include collaborative and cooperative learning techniques and
developmentally appropriate activities. 9.All teacher's materials shall
include recommended activities for varying ability levels. 10.The
offeror shall provide their latest materials available to school
systems in the United States as stated in their most current catalog or
price list. 11.All materials shall be free of racial, color, national
origin, age, disabling conditions, sexual, religious, and ethnic bias
and shall present a balanced coverage of multi-cultural contributions,
where appropriate. 12.Software Specifications: must be compatible with
Windows NT 4.x and/or Windows 95 and/or Windows 98. 13.Operational
Systems: must be compatible with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange,
Lotus Notes, and Novell Network versions 4.x, which are approved DoDEA
standard software packages. 14.Contractors shall not submit any
physical education instructional materials, programs, software, and/or
other technology items to schools, teachers, physical education
coordinators or other employees of the Department of Defense Education
Activity during the solicicitation phase of this acquisition. 15.The
proposed contract(s) will be Requirements type contract(s) with a base
period of 18 months and 5 option years. 16.All responsible sources may
submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. 17.The
solicitation is expected to be issued approximately 6/9/00. 18.The
solicitation will contain specific details concerning submission of
