99 -- DEMILITARIZATION OF U.S. ARMY TACTICAL MISSILES DUE 053100 POC Detra Battle-Blue, Contract Specialist, 256-842-7137, AMSAM-AC-SA-FF or Hamilton Bowie, Contracting Officer, 256-842-7534 DESC: The purpose of this announcement is to serve as a market survey to determine the acquisition strategy for the demilitarization of the U.S. Army Tactical Missiles. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Deputy for Systems Acquisition (USA) and PEO Tactical Missiles, desire information that defines capabilities in the area of missile demilitarization and ultimate disposal. This information will be used to develop an acquisition strategy for a feasible solution to the Army's requirement for tactical missile demilitarization. The Government is currently seeking information to evaluate risk, capability and cost. The Government is also seeking a solution that maximizes resource, recovery and reclamation (R3), within reasonable cost constraints, to meet demilitarization requirements over the next 10-15 years. The information received in response to this RFI may be used for the generation of a Request for Proposal (RFP). To receive full consideration, responses must be received no later than 60 days after release of the RFI. Any questions concerning the RFI should be submitted in writing within 2 weeks after release of the RFI (30 Mar 00 -- 13 APR 00). Questions and answers will be posted on the above website at the end of the 2 week period. This announcement is not a Request for Proposal.
