There are, at Little Mountain, five hoists located in building 501 (the Shock and Vibration Lab) and two hoists located in building 4301 (the Large Flash X-ray Lab) that are used to fit the ICBM Guidance Systems to test fixtures This requires that the Guidance System be precisely positioned so that the holes will line up perfectly for attachment. The present hoists have two speeds; one for rapid movement and a slower speed for more precise movement. Both speeds are two fast for the Guidance System to be placed accurately on the test fixture. The purpose of this acquisition is to replace the hoist controls with a variable speed control that will allow exact placement of the system on the fixture. STATEMENT OF WORK The purpose of this project is to upgrade the hoists in Bldg. 501(3 ea,) and 4301(2 ea.) for more precise speed control. Provide labor and materials to perform the following work: 1. Fit festoon brackets into existing monorails and fit "c" track festoon system. 2.Supply new hoist and trolley VFD control panel. Mount panel on wall at end of monorail. Provide a NEMA 12 enclosure with a mainline contactor. 3. Mount a NEMA 12 (10"x8"x6") junction box on the end of the monorail. 4.Run power and control wiring from the control enclosure to the junction box. 5.Install flat cable from the hoist/trolley control panel to the junction box. 6.Reuse existing pendants in bldg. 501. Retrofit with on/off switches. 7. Supply new pendants for building 4301. Provide 6 button-on/off, up/down, forward/reverse. 8.Pendants to be mounted on an independent track for the two hoists in bldg.4301. 5 ton hoist -460-3-60,7,5 hp hoist,1 hp trolley, 2 ea. 2 ton hoist -- 460-3-60, 2 hp hoist, 1/2 hp trolley, 3 ea. The approximate issue/response date will be 19 APR 2000. The anticipated award date will be 09 May 2000. Electronic procedure will be used for this solicitation. See our Web page. This proposed procurement is under a 100 percent small business set aside, the size standard for which is 750 employees.
