oroszd@tacom.army.mil. Item: STRIKER is a continuation of the Bradley
Fire Support Team (BFIST) program designed specifically for the Army's
Combat Observation Lasing Team in the heavy and light divisions. The
STRIKER integrates the BFIST Mission Equipment Package into a HMMWV
chassis supporting heavy and light force fire support operations. This
requirement is for a quantity of up to 9 STRIKER Vehicles for the
National Guard. In addition, the Army will require a plus-up of up to
40,000 System Technical Support (STS) hours under the STRIKER Low Rate
Initial Production contract. Both National Guard and STS requirements
will be added to contract DAAE07-99-C-M011 as options. TACOM intends
to negotiate on a sole source basis with Systems & Electronics Inc. of
St. Louis, MO. purusant to FAR 6.302. See numbered Notes 22 and 26.
