U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement for 56
various Fairbanks Morse parts for engine models 38D8-1/8 and 38td8-1/8.
The engines are installed for main propulsion on the U.S. Coast Guard's
141' WTCG and 378' WHEC class vessels. Delivery to be made to U.S.
Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. A
requirements type contract for a base year and four (4) option years is
anticipated. It has been determined in accordance with FAR 6.302-1,
that only Coltec Industries, Fairbanks Morse Engine Division can
provide the parts. Technical data and/or drawings pertaining to the
various engine parts is not available within the Government and are
proprietary to the Original Equipment Manufacturer, Coltec Industries,
Fairbanks Morse Engine DIvision. Negotiations will be conducted solely
with Coltec Industries, Fiarbanks Morse Engine Division. All
responsible sources have been given the opportunity to submit
information describing their capabilities in supply theabove items in
issue PSA-2514 dated 01/18/00. See numbered Note 22. All responsible
sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency. THIS
