lfermin@cgalaska.uscg.mil. Contractor shall furnish all equipment,
materials, labor, and other resources necessary to complete a
renovation and roof repair of the U. S. Coast Guard Housing unit
located at 4453 Albatross St., Juneau, AK. Work includes, but is not
limited to cedar shake roof repair, replacement of skylights, repair of
wall/ceilings, replacement of front doors, disposal of two exterior
elevated wooden decks, construction of two new decks, installation of
fencing, driveway pavement work, installation of two zone common fire
alarm system, removal and installation of carpet, interior painting and
finish work, and repair of damage due to vehicle impact. All work shall
be completed within 60 calendar days from the start of work on site,
with the exception of pavement work which shall be completed within 90
days from the start of work on site. Work to begin no later than 1
June 2000. The estimated cost range for this project is between $25,000
and $100,000. The work required by this solicitation is identified as
IndustryStandard 1799 and the applicable size standard is $7.0 million
dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. Request for
Quotation packages must be received in this office by close of business
April 20, 2000. This procurement is issued pursuant to the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Public Law 100-656, as
implemented by the OFPP Policy Directive and Test Plan dated 8/31/89.
This is NOT a small business set-aside. All responsible sources may
submit a quote which shall be considered by the U.S. Coast Guard. For
Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises; The
Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related
contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime subcontractor at
any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables prime
subcontractor to apply for quote, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guarantee of the
quote amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the
DOT Short Term lending Program (STLP) at prime rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
