Sealed offers are due on or before Tuesday, May 2, 2000 no later than 4:00 pm EST. Award of the project will be based on price and other factors. In addition to a price proposal, contractors must provide evidence of ten years business experience and references from similar sized projects completed within the past 3 -- 5 years (with points of contact). A completed Schedule of Values must be submitted along with other specified documents to complete the proposal package. There will be a preproposal meeting held for this project on site (76 Main Street, North Reading) beginning at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2000. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS AND THE RESULTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED UNTIL AWARD OF THE PROJECT. Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, and tools for painting interior surfaces, inclusive of cleaning, minor repairs, and preparation of the general workroom, platform, support and administrative office areas and others as shown on drawings. Work will require significant phasing to accomodate ongoing USPS 24 hour/seven day operations. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $1,500,000.00 with construction completion 150 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
