This is a market survey to locate additional sources by The 12th
Contracting Squadron at Randolph AFB, TX, this is a sources sought
announcement only. There is no solicitation available at this time.
Randolph AFB TX intends to award a firm fixed-fixed contract under
Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and.pursuant to FAR 13.6 for
installation of weather shelters on Randolph AFB, TX. OBJECTIVE: The
contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, parts, materials, and
transportation necessary to install required weather shelters and will
be conducted in order to limit disruption of operations and in
accordance with base safety and security requirements to perform and
complete the following requirement: SPECIFICATION OF SYSTEM: 1. The
contractor shall provide and install approximately 34 weather shelters
to support T-6 aircraft on Randolph AFB TX. The proposed structures
are envisioned to be approximately 50 feet by 50 feet with ceilings at
least 15 feet high to accommodate the tail structure of the aircraft.
These shelters are equipment and will be purchased in increments. The
customer will acquire additional specifications at a later date. 2.
The proposed T-6 shelters are envisioned as a stand-alone structure
capable of accommodating one (1) aircraft in an area measuring 50 feet
by 50 feet. Shelters to be erected to provide adequate wing and tail
clearance for aircraft and be able to withstand winds of 70 + MPH. In
addition the shelters and taxing aid must be collapsible/removable and
not be considered permanent structures (e.g. bolted not welded).
Subject structures shall be bolted to the concrete parking apron. The
structure design shall incorporate the capability of adding additional
structures to the original shelter. The original shelters and all
additional shelters are to be designed so that birds can not nest/roost
in the structure. A nose gear tire guide rail will be installed to aid
taxing aircraft while maintaining wing to structure clearance. No
utilities will be provided to these facilities. 3. Alternative designs
and drawings would assist our customer in reviewing potential
structures to accommodate the historical concerns and considerations
and restrictions as they pertain to Randolph AFB TX. Also, request that
respondents identify existing commercial items that meet, come close or
have similar requirements to those stated above. 4. Additional
specifications and approvals are still pending, upon receipt of
documents, an amendment will be issued to this special notice to
conduct a market research /investigation appropriate to determine and
meet the agency_s requirements. 5. All responsible sources may submit
drawings/design/product literature/catalogs in order to obtain the most
suitable approach to acquiring, distributing, and supporting supplies
and services and determine if sources capable of satisfying the
agency_s requirement. 6. This survey is for planning purposes only and
shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation
on behalf of the government. The government does not intend to award a
contract based on the results of this market survey or otherwise pay
for information solicited. The government will utilize the information
provided only to develop and maintain an acquisition strategy for
