Institute of Justice (NIJ) Office of Science and Technology (OS&T).
Aspen Systems Corporation (ASC) is the Prime Contractor, and in
conjunction with the Office of Law Enforcement Standards (OLES) of the
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), jointly
administer the Law Enforcement and Corrections Standards and Testing
Program. This program is designed to assist law enforcement and
corrections agencies in selecting and procuring safe and reliable
equipment. Through the Law Enforcement and Corrections Standards and
Testing Program, scientists and engineers work together with criminal
justice professionals to develop minimum performance standards for
equipment, to test equipment used by law enforcement agencies in
NIJ/NLECTC certified laboratories, and to disseminate the results
through equipment performance reports. Aspen Systems Corporation
(NLECTC) intends to test Stab Resistant Personal Body Armor for law
enforcement and corrections applications in accordance with the
requirements of the soon to be published NIJ Standard-0115.00. NLECTC
invites qualified laboratories to provide information pertaining to
their capabilities, length of time required to complete testing, and
