USAID/Egypt intends to execute a modification to contract number 263-C-00-99-00009 with Camp, Dresser & McKee, of Cambridge, MA, under the Egypt Utilities Management/Alexandria Project. The modification, estimated at $200,000 will be implemented over a 20-month period and will extend the current contract for three months. The activities under the modification include NGO/community building in the Mohsen El Kobra Village and providing institutional strengthening to the Alexandria Water General Authority. Both tasks shall center around establishing a system of understanding and appreciation of the improvement in water service to the area. USAID/Egypt intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of AIDAR 706.302-70(b)(5). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days after publicationof this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
